Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Local Organizing and Scientific Committees, it is our great pleasure to warmly welcome you to the XL Annual Conference of the ISHR North America Section in Denver, Colorado. The theme of the conference is "Novel Mechanisms of Heart Failure: Advancing New Therapies".
The Scientific Committee has developed an exciting, informative, and up-to-date program with seven main topics devoted to Mechanisms of Cardioprotection and Injury, New Insights into Cardiac Dysfunction, Ion Channel Mechanisms and Arrhythmias, Signaling in Cardiac Disease and Therapy, Emerging Concepts for Cardiac Regulation: Beyond the Genome, Cardiac Metabolism, and Regenerative Medicine for Heart Disease.
As in previous meetings, the XL Annual Meeting of the ISHR North American Section will invite internationally distinguished speakers to participate in our conference and provide a platform for basic and clinical scientists to present their new findings, technical advancements, and therapeutic innovations. We hope that all delegates can benefit maximally through exchange of views and social networking to promote global cardiovascular health.
May is a great time to visit Denver, the largest city in Colorado. Denver has the largest number of cultural heritages in the world. We sincerely hope that during your stay in Colorado, you will enjoy the experience in The Mile High City and, most importantly, the science of ISHR NAS.
We look forward to welcoming you in Denver.
Best wishes,
On behalf of the International Society for Heart Research North American Section, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Denver, CO and the XXXVIII ISHR North American Section Conference. The Annual Conference is the main event for ISHR NAS and is shaping up to be an outstanding scientific meeting. The highlights of the meeting include an outstanding scientific program, extensive early- and mid-career activities, expansive poster sessions, social interactions, and a chance to connect with international colleagues.
Meetings such as this do not happen without a lot of work and effort. First and foremost, thanks to Kelley Brodsky, Kunhua Song, Maggie Lam, Kathleen Woulfe, Peter Buttrick, & Leslie Leinwand of the local organizing committee, as well as the North American Section for their tireless work on our 38th ISHR NAS Annual Conference. Thanks also to Timothy Mckinsey, Kika Sucharov, and the ISHR NAS Council for putting together an outstanding series of symposia. The ISHR NAS is tremendously grateful to the Early Career Investigator (ECI) committee, chaired by Sam Das and Ron Vagnozzi, their faculty mentor Ronglih Liao, and our local ECI contacts Rushita Bagchi, Anastacia Garcia, & Jennifer Major. The ECI committee has planned numerous scientific and social events and, based on experience from previous Annual Conferences, these ECI events are a highlight of the meeting. We are pleased to announce the formation of a new ISHR NAS Mid-Career Investigator (MCI) Committee, chaired by Sarah Franklin and Rajasekaran Namakkal-Soorappan, together with/supported by local MCI contacts Kathleen Woulfe & Maggie Lam. This committee has planned a number of activities at the Annual Conference and I encourage all Mid-Career Investigators to attend. Special thanks to our Treasurer & Acting Secretary of Recording Maha Abdellatif and Acting Secretary of Membership & Assistant Treasurer Chen Gao for all they do and to the ISHR NAS Executive Committee for their leadership..
Welcome and enjoy the Conference!
